Dear Solomon and Setsuko:
Although it's all been said before, let me join the chours by saying
that the new additions to your family are absolutely adorable. Hope you
have a safe and happy trip back to the Bay Area. This auntie is very
much looking forward to meeting her new nieces, Iris and Rose.
Congratulations to you both. And Solomon, I was delighted to learn of your
eponymous toilet - your reputation precedes you, obviously. Now you are
immortalized in porcelain.

As Jon and I stood shouder to shouder watching your pictures
unfold, we could not help but notice how happy your Daddy and Mommy
are. We will remind them of this day when you turn teenagers but for now,
warm yourselves in th glow of thier everlasting love and remember your
spiritual destiny is in the hands of very good people.
PS: We found humor in the fact that Dad could not resist the mention of
the monetary transaction and how it dented his enormous pocketbook.

Dear Iris and Rose-
I am the proud mom of 2 year old girl from Uralsk. You guys look so
much like she did when we were in Uralsk. I have sooo enjoyed seeing
your beautiful faces every day. I know your parents are anxious to get
you home, but I'll miss seeing you grow and change every day in your
beautiful family.... may one of you torture your parents in the true
Uralsk girl tradition!! You Uralsk girls are known for being quite strong
willed and beautiful... you for sure are beautiful, the truth about the
other will be known in time!! Lots of love from Texas!! Amanda

After seeing your beautiful children and noting their names I am
reminded of the beauty of our gardens through the year. We grow both Iris
and Roses here in Sunshine Hollow. Vicki and I both hope your children
blossom and bloom like a garden in Springtime. Our Best Wishes

Hi Uncle Sol and Aunty Setsuko,
My new cousins look cute, but please dress them up differently and keep
on thier name tags.We went to the 49er game. We got killed. It was
probally the most embarising game in 49er history...but the garlic fries
were good. When are you bringing the flowers home?

Dear Iris and Rose: We can't wait to meet you either! We
have been reading all about you, and looking at your pictures. We can
see already just how special you are, and how happy you've made your Mom
Though we are not actually full family members-you'll get to know what
"extended family" means because there are a lot of us waiting to
welcome you. We've all known your Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandma and Mom and
Dad a long time, and we all know what a loving and welcoming family
they are, and now how lucky they are to have you and you to have them.
Sending lots of love to you, Iris and Rose, Mom and Dad.

Iris and Rose
It's been so wonderful watching you get to know your parents. I can see
from the pictures that you are becoming one big happy family. Your
extended family in San Francisco is so excited to meet you. We missed you
on Thanksgiving, but we are looking forward to sharing many holidays
with you. I love the pictures of you in your sweaters. I hope you enjoy
wearing them as much as I enjoyed making them.

The Buffalo Kayes
David: you know Uncle Solomon and Aunt Setsuko are leaving
for Kazakhstan today.
Eliza: i knew that daaaad.
David: they left from San Francisco today
Elia: how long does it take?
David: well they're stopping in frankfurt and then going to
Kazakhstan. i think its about 13 hours to Frankfurt and, i don't know, another 8
hours to Kazakhstan from there.
Eliza: that's like 21 hours
David: yeah, it takes a really, really long time to get there
Eliza: yeah, but the babies are forever.
ain't it the truth dearest Solly and Setsuko! We are so excited. You
guys are amazing and Iris and Rose are the luckiest (apologies to ben

your personal physician, i must remind you not to forget the laxatives or
the plugger-uppers. Our spirit and thoughts are with you all the way.
lots of love, hugs, and kisses
David, Emily, Eliza, and Madeline
